Dana Lopez

RMHCI

Hello! I am Dana – a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern (RMHCI) eager to facilitate your journey towards a life worth living. Fluent in both English and Spanish, you can expect our collaborative work to be culturally responsive, empathetic, and a gateway to rediscover your inner strength. At the end of the day, you are the biggest expert of your own life and life circumstances. Therefore, as your therapist, I see my role as a guide. My goal is not to instruct but rather to elicit your authentic thoughts, feelings, and needs in a safe space.

Through our work together, you will learn to uncover your personal strengths, alter counterproductive patterns, develop the tools you need to take purposeful action, and build a foundation for lasting change. I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches, including but not limited to: Cognitive Processing Therapy [CPT], (Trauma-Focused) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy [(TF-)CBT], Dialectical Behavioral Therapy [DBT], Exposure Therapy, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, etc. In simpler terms, I can help you with Trauma Recovery, Emotion Regulation & Coping Skills, Familial Dynamics, Relationships, and also provide LGBTQIA+ affirmative care. My approach is warm yet direct, collaborative, and ultimately empowering — with a deep respect for your journey and the person you are becoming.

By the end of our work together, you will have not only a deeper understanding of yourself but the confidence and skills to embrace life’s challenges as opportunities for growth. You are the hero of your journey — I’m just here to lend a hand along the way.

If you’re ready to take the next step and begin your transformative journey, I’d love to help you get started. Contact me today to schedule a consultation!

My personality attributes: Compassionate, charismatic, sarcastic, perceptive, honest, and direct.

Take the first step towards growth.
